Elimination of Preventive Services Co-Pays September 16, 2010

One of the key initiatives of the PPACA (the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act), othewise known by most people as Health Care Reform is the elimination of co-payments for screenings and preventive care. Effective in September 2010, insurance companies may no longer charge its members a co-payment for any preventive service as defined by the United States Preventive Services Task Force, unless the plan has a “grandfathered” status (check with your carrier for information about your particular plan).
